Public Call for Donation Applications for 2026 Now Open

BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE CALL

TANKERSKA PLOVIDBA shipping joint-stock company, Božidara Petranovića 4 Street, 23000 Zadar, OIB: 44952903763 (hereinafter: the Company), announces a Public Call for the allocation of donations in 2026 (hereinafter: the Call). The aim of the Call is to provide support to high-quality projects and programmes in the following areas: humanitarian activities, culture, education, healthcare, science and other activities that contribute to the well-being and improvement of the quality of life of the community.

FORMAL CONDITIONS OF THE CALL

Eligible applicants are:

  1. Civil society organisations with headquarters in the Republic of Croatia: associations, foundations, religious communities, artistic organisations, private non-profit institutions; whose activities are aimed at the general welfare and improvement of the quality of life of the community.
  2. Institutions with headquarters in the Republic of Croatia: kindergartens, schools, faculties, student dormitories, nature parks, tourist boards, private institutions, museums, libraries, etc.; which are not covered by the first point, but are eligible applicants for financing programmes and projects in accordance with the conditions of the Call

    that meet the following conditions:
  1. Natural persons, citizens of the Republic of Croatia, who have a properly registered permanent and temporary residence in the Republic of Croatia – exclusively for healthcare needs
  2. Bodies of state administration and local and regional (regional) self-government – only for activities with the following purpose: humanitarian, educational, scientific, health (e.g. treatment), respect for human rights and diversity and prevention of discrimination, environmental protection and sustainable development, and promotion of the development of civil society.

Eligible applicants who simultaneously carry out both economic and non-economic activities (services of general social interest) may apply only for projects or programmes that relate to non-economic activities, and the awarded funds may not be used for the development of economic activities, i.e. for achieving economic benefit by participating in the market in the trade of goods and services.

The following do not have the right to apply to the Call: trading companies, craftsmen, as well as branches, subsidiaries and similar organisational forms of associations that are not registered in accordance with the Associations Act and do not have legal personality; political parties, citizens’ associations, citizens’ lists or individuals, as well as civil society organisations and institutions:

Submitted projects/programmes must relate to activities that will be implemented in 2026.

DURATION OF THE CALL

The Call is open from 8 April to 8 May 2026.

The deadline for submitting applications is 8 May 2026 by 16:00 hours.

The expected date for the publication of results on www.tankerska.hr is 16 June 2026.

PROGRAMME AREAS FOR THE ALLOCATION OF DONATIONS

  1. Education, science and upbringing – educational projects/programmes, international manifestations of children’s and youth creativity, organisation of extracurricular activities, scientific projects, encouragement of creativity and innovation, projects for the development of civil society, training of citizens in information and communication technologies
  2. Culture, cultural heritage and art – encouragement of cultural and artistic creation, preservation of national and local cultural heritage, assistance to talented artists
  3. Environmental protection – projects/programmes promoting energy efficiency and environmental knowledge, projects for improving the state of the environment, projects for the protection of people and property
  4. Humanitarian projects (healthcare, social welfare, human rights) – charitable projects/programmes and activities of significance for the elderly, sick, poor and powerless persons and persons with special needs; protection and promotion of health, assistance to the ill, support for persons with disabilities, safety of children and youth, prevention of violence among children and youth, educational work with children and youth with special needs, protection of the rights of socially disadvantaged groups and marginalised and neglected groups of the population
  5. Animal protection – reduction of the number of abandoned and lost pets, protection of the life, health and welfare of animals, provision of care for animals, especially abandoned and lost pets and free-roaming cats
  6. Sport – encouragement and promotion of physical culture and sports activities, especially activities for children and youth aimed at improving health.

When implementing project/programme activities, the applicant must ensure respect for the principles of equal opportunities, gender equality and non-discrimination, and develop activities in accordance with the needs of the community.

Note: project activities must be carried out on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.

ELIGIBLE COSTS TO BE FINANCED UNDER THIS CALL

Only actual costs incurred in the implementation of the project/programme may be financed with the funds of this Call. When evaluating projects, the necessity of the indicated costs in relation to the planned activities as well as the realistic amount of the stated costs will be assessed.

Through this Call, the above-mentioned ineligible costs incurred during the implementation of the project/programme will not be financed.

GENERAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The following general criteria will be applied when evaluating the submitted applications:

APPLICATION TO THE CALL

Applications to the Call are submitted by filling out the Donation Application Form, which is available on the Company’s website.

All interested parties have the right to apply with only one project.

The approved donation funds for an individual applied project may amount to a maximum of 10,000.00 euros, and it is not permitted to request a higher amount from the Company in the application.

Applications sent after the deadline will not be considered.

The Commission for the Allocation of Donations will consider only those applications that are complete, received within the prescribed deadline and meet the other conditions of the Call.

The Company reserves the right to cancel the Call without special explanation until the moment of public announcement of the results on the Company’s website.

Application documentation – mandatory attachments:

  1. Completed Donation Application Form
  2. Proof of registration (official or unofficial extract from the competent register / register / records; a complete printout of all pages of the extract from the website in .pdf format is also valid) valid at the time of submitting the application for the Call. (Note: If the person authorised to represent the applicant listed in the Donation Application Form is not the same as the person(s) listed in the extract from the competent register, or their mandate has expired, or there is a change in the person authorised to represent during the call procedure, applicants are obliged to submit, together with the Donation Application Form, a valid document from which it is evident who is the actual person authorised to represent the applicant. If such a document is not submitted, the application will not be considered).

List of additional attachments that the applicant considers relevant for explaining the project being applied for:

An application is considered valid if all mandatory fields in the Donation Application Form are correctly filled out and the mandatory attachments are enclosed as required in the Call and the application documentation. In addition to the mandatory documentation, other documents that the applicant considers necessary for a better understanding of the project may be attached to the Donation Application Form.

Applications are submitted electronically. The complete application documentation for the Call must be sent to the e-mail address: sponzorstva.donacije@tankerska.hr with the subject line “For the public call for the allocation of donations of Tankerska plovidba d.d. in 2026”.

An applicant who has submitted the application with accompanying documentation by e-mail is obliged, if requested by the Company, to submit the same for inspection in original form.

Applicants who are shortlisted by the Commission for the Allocation of Donations must, upon the Company’s request, submit:

  1. Certificate from the Ministry of Finance – Tax Administration on the absence of debts based on public levies, not older than 30 days from the date of submission of the application for the Call
  2. Certificate from the competent court that no criminal proceedings are being conducted against all persons authorised to represent the applicant and that they have not been convicted (even if not final), as well as a statement on non-punishment; not older than 30 days from the date of submission of the application for the Call.

Other documents may be requested as needed.

Applicants are obliged to submit the requested documents to the e-mail address sponzorstva.donacije@tankerska.hr with the subject line “For the public call for the allocation of donations of Tankerska plovidba d.d. in 2026” within 8 (eight) calendar days from the date of sending the notification to their e-mail address specified in the application form.

Applications for the allocation of donations from those who do not submit the requested documents within the specified period or whose submitted documents are not valid will be rejected.

By submitting the documents, the applicant assumes exclusive responsibility for the truthfulness of the data in the application and assumes the risk of rejection of the application in the event that the submitted data and/or documents are found to be false.

NOTIFICATION OF THE DECISION ON THE ALLOCATION OF THE DONATION

The results of the Call will be published on the Company’s website www.tankerska.hr after the completion of the donation allocation procedure.

CONCLUSION OF THE DONATION AGREEMENT

The Company will notify the selected applicants by e-mail of the amount of the awarded financial funds and will send them draft donation agreements for signature and conclusion in the case of an approved donation in an amount greater than 2,000.00 euros.

The agreement will, among other things, define the subject of the Agreement, the deadline and method of payment of the funds to the donation recipient, the obligation of its intended use of the donated funds, the deadline and method of submitting reports on the implemented activities and spent funds, the Company’s waiver of direct or indirect liability for damages arising from any activity of the recipient in the implementation of the project, and the method of resolving disputes.

The signed agreement by the donation recipient must be sent by post within 30 days to the address: TANKERSKA PLOVIDBA d.d., Management Office (for donations), Božidara Petranovića 4, 23000 Zadar.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA OF PARTICIPANTS

The processing of personal data within the donation procedure is carried out in accordance with the provisions of (EU) 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation, the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (Official Gazette 42/2018) and other applicable regulations, especially regulations on the protection of personal data. By applying to the call for the allocation of donations, the applicant confirms that they are familiar with the Notice on the Processing of Personal Data by Tankerska plovidba d.d., which is published on the Company’s official website and can be found at the following link: https://www.tankerska.hr/hr/informacije-o-obradi-podataka.

All submitted documentation related to donations is considered confidential and in that sense cannot be made available to third parties, except in proceedings in accordance with the mandatory regulations of the Republic of Croatia.

RESOLUTION OF DISPUTES

In the event of a dispute between the Company and the applicant for the allocation of donations, the competent court is the Municipal Court in Zadar. The authentic interpretation of the provisions of this Call is determined exclusively by the Company.

FINAL PROVISIONS

Upon the Company’s request, the applicant is obliged to submit a report on the implemented activities and spent funds in accordance with the provisions of the Donation Agreement, or the appropriate documentation from which it is evident that the donation has been used for its intended purpose.

Based on this Call, there is no right to the allocation of donations, and the Company reserves the right not to award a donation to any of the applied projects.
